There are mainly two reasons we haven’t updated the site. One is because we didn’t have internet service for a week. The other reason is we had a lot of homework to do before Thanksgiving break. But now that the service is back up, I can now write. Keep a look out in the weeks to come before winter break hits.

DreamWorks was in the process of obtaining the rights to the original Japanese manga by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya with Mandate. The film was going to be based on that manga and not the Oldboy film, but it seems that DreamWorks and Mandate couldn’t see eye to eye and have left the project.

Don’t really know what to think of this. I’m happy that Hollywood will stay away from this franchise, too bad the same can’t work on the Cowboy Bebop movie. But I have nothing notable to look forward to that involves manga related movies. At least the Spielberg and Will Smith adaptation had some chance, but still it didn’t feel right. What do you guys make of the news?
